This fictionalized story about detective Dyke Darrel concerns the murder of a railroad express employee and the robbery of $30,000 from the railroad. It is an intriguing story that reveals how detectives worked in the 1880s, before fingerprints were useful, and long before DNA evidence was even heard of. Dyke escapes attempts on his life by the gang he is chasing. Through his expert skills as a detective, he is able to use intriguing clues to put together a case against the culpable suspects.
